AirTags may be a revolution in terms of localizing your precious items. AirTags Trackers are small, button-shaped devices with a famous apple logo on them. These devices are used to put on items like keys or wallets, and then these chosen accessories can be tracked easily using Apple devices using Bluetooth. In this article, we'll give you a quick review of the new Apple AirTags.
Apple AirTags use an enormous network of already existing Apple devices, that help you to locate your precious items by using UWB (Ultra Wideband Technology). After setting your AirTag, you can see your item's location using Apple's Find My application (if it's in the range of 100 meters from your Apple device.). You can also use Find My to play a sound on your AirTag's built-in speaker (which is very useful if you are simply looking for your item, and you know that it is nearby.). If you are out of the Bluetooth range, you can enable Lost Mode on your AirTag, it'll notify you if you get in range of the lost item. And what if someone else finds your item? They can use their NFC to see (if you've allowed it) your contact number!
You don't have to be scared about your data though! AirTags are designed to track items, not people, these devices do not store any location data, and the communication between your AirTag and Find My app is fully encrypted. AirTags come with a CR2032 battery that is said to work for an entire year before getting replaced.
AirTags are (surprisingly!) cheap, you can buy a single tag for 29$ or 99$ for a four-pack. There is additional equipment that you can buy, which just makes it easier to use your AirTag.
While ordering your AirTag from Apple's website, you can personalize your device by putting your text (up to 4 letters) or emojis on it! Of course, you can't put any curse words on it, or any emojis that may together represent something bad.
There are many great things about AirTags, first off, the design is dead simple (which can be of course also considered a bad thing). Pairing is extremely simple, it's pretty similar to pairing AirPods. It has a user-replaceable battery, and the finding precision is excellent! AirTags are also said to be water-proof. These devices can withstand being in the water for up to one meter (3.3 feet) for about 30 minutes, which means that AirTags will not get damaged by the rain or any accidental spills on them.
The main disadvantage of AirTags is that there is no keyring hole on them, you have to buy external equipment to be able to put it on your items. Otherwise, you'll have to escape to use stuff like glue to attach an AirTag on the important items. AirTags are also not very useful in case of theft, since they can be simply removed from the stolen items.
As you see, there are many reasons to buy an AirTag (if you already own at least one Apple device). The price is surprisingly low for Apple, which is very welcome by everyone! It is still a pretty new product, so we'll need to wait and see how it does on the market. In our opinion it's worth it to buy yourself one, just make sure that you have an Apple device compatible with the AirTags.
