How to perform a Virus Scan on SAMSUNG phones?

What is Virus Scan and where is it located?

Newer phones produced by Samsung come with an already installed Device Maintenance application. You can use its vast array of functions for one of few areas: Battery, Storage, Memory, and Device Security.

We will focus on the Device Security function and how using it and Device Maintenance can help you make your phone much more secure. The app regularly scans your device for any possibly malicious software and provides you with solutions on how to deal with them, all backed up by Intel Security.

How to run Virus Scan yourself?

  1. From your phone's main menu, navigate to Settings. Wipe data on your device
  2. There, find the Device Maintenance option. Format your device
  3. Around the lower part of the screen, select Device Security. Restore your device
  4. If not done before, Agree to the Terms and Conditions.
  5. Select the Scan Phone function. Remove screen password on your device
  6. Wait for the scan to be completed. Remove Screen Lock on your device
  7. If your device might be having virus problems and they are detected, you will be asked to Ignore or Uninstall the app it came from.

That's it! Remember to scan your phone at least once a week and avoid opening software from unknown sources!
