What is WiFi Calling? How to allow Wi-Fi calling?

If you are in a situation or place where your phone signal is low or completely blocked, then there is probably a special feature on your phone called WiFi calling, it allows you to make calls or send text messages over the internet, rather than using your cellular phone network. This simple feature is really useful under certain circumstances, but that's not the only reason why you should use WiFi calling on your device.

How does the WiFi Calling works?

It works just like normal calling on your phone, but instead of routing your call through the cellular network, your carrier does it using the available WiFi connection. You don't have to worry about choosing the strongest accessible network, your phone does it for you while you are making a WiFi call.

Are there any extra costs for WiFi calling?

Nope, WiFi calling does not cost anything extra, it costs just as you were making a regular phone through your carrier's cellular network, and it involves transnational fees. Keep in mind that some countries simply do not support WiFi calling, such as India, China, Singapore, Cuba and Australia.

How to allow WiFi calls?

Since WiFi calling is not turned on to most of devices from the start, we have to do it ourselves. We'll show you how to enable WiFi calls on Android phone.

  1. First of, unblock your phone.
  2. Then, open up the notifications bar by swiping your finger from top to the bottom. Open notifications bar
  3. Then, find an option which enables WiFi calling and tap on it. Enable WiFi calling
  4. That's it! You've enabled WiFi calling on your mobile device. WiFi calling enabled

So that's everything! From now on you'll be able to make WiFi calls using your phone.
